Prom Night survival guide

If you want to survive your child's high school prom, my first advice is not to have a daughter. The stories I heard from my friends about wardrobe woes for daughters was scary. Because of this, I thought I had it soooo easy. I mean, I have 3 sons. You rent a black tux, you buy a corsage and you're done. Right? Wrong! I won't tell you all that I've learned, why ruin the fun for you? I will tell you that you will pay for every little thing that you did to your mother when you were a teenager - compounded and with interest!

Don't let these smiling, adorable faces fool you. It was hell!

The long and short of it is, I'm broke and I haven't even written the college tuition check yet. Anyone want to buy some yarn?

It's so nice to see them dress up especially the boys. Just wait ...once in college the wants and needs lists never ends and that's not even counting tuition ;)

Feeling your pain on prom. I've sent 3 daughters off to various proms and man oh man I was thankful when my son said he didn't want to go.

YES, I'd love to buy some yarn! Oh, sorry, this was about prom, right??

How cute! And yes, I've already heard horror stories about what kinds of clothes some girls want to wear. :-0

Bet you're glad it's over...for now. But they're all just so cute.

Well maybe if y'all (OMG I've been living in the south WAY too long) weren't so stylish, a black tux would suffice!! He looks SHARP! And so do you, btw!! And I have to say I really loved the way the girls were dressed. No hoochie mamas seen.

The son and his date sure look swell.

Sigh. I really don't want my kids to run away from home, or drop out of high school, or decide they want to be homeschooled before they are seniors. Heck, I'm even encouraging my 12 year old daughter to re-think her "Boys are stupid" philosophy. But HOLY COW, there's a lot of things and events to separate parents from their money during that senior year.

I am glad to have prom behind me for all 3 kids! (whether they went or not....) Girls DEFINITELY harder emotionally than boys.... But with 3 in college next year I don't think I'll be buying yarn anytime soon....

Ya made me a little misty about the eyes. Erik will be a junior next year. I am bracing myself for a little drama and heartbreak where girls are concerned.
As for your young man, how handsome he looks and you look so proud. Who believed that they could grow up so fast. I know I didn't!

What's the requirement for hanging out with you guys? Look like a million bucks?

Oh, I've heard the tales. I've got another three years before I have to face it. Ugh!
On the bright side your son and his date look like they should be gracing the pages of a magazine!
The photo of the three of you is fantasic!
