Well, I finished the hat. The pattern is by Sheila MacDonald. I was inspired to try this by Kathryn whom I 'met' over on Revelry. It is really easy to follow and takes just two skeins of yarn. I did it with some mixed flava DK weight (70/30% acrylic). Now that I know I can't screw this up, I'll try it with the 'good stuff'.
It could have been a wee bit looser.

I love the hat (and Sting) . very Norwegian like, I think.
We have alot of this kind of patterns in Norway.
The hat looks great!
You did a fabulous job... love the intarsia.
It turned out so awesome! A quick block might loosen it up a bit but I think it looks great :) The colors you chose are so perfect!
Haha Sting! Love it!! :oD So glad the hat was a success it looks good! I am so "jelly"!!!
Hi! I love the hat! I have tried "samples" of Intarsia. I'm scared to commit to a whole intaria project.
I have not heard of ATcards.com but will go now and have apeek.
I subscribed to your blog as well!

I love your photographing skills
I love it! Your colorwork really came out amazing. Just in time for the cooler weather, too!
I am very impressed with the hat. I don't know how to do fair isle, that is what it is, isn't it? Anyway I think it's great. Sting was great too.
Lovely hat & great video!
Very cute hat!
Um, LOVE this.
*sigh* one more to add to my list.
Knit envy is the worst :)
Great hat! I love stranded knitting. You can make it a bit looser by wet-blocking it and letting it dry around a bowl... Not too big of a bowl, though!

Absolutely beautiful!
It looks great! Do you think it would loosen up a bit with wear?
You're very disciplined to knit a "practice" hat before knitting the "real" one -- I think I'd lose focus after the practice one.
That is one gorgeous hat!! I LOVE the colors!! Great job!!
WOW, it already looks like the good stuff!
