Leaves and Snow

This was the Monday morning scene here in Northern New Jersey. Snow falling mixed with falling leaves. Truly weird. Our town hasn't even begun to make a stab at fall cleanup. There are mounds of leaves still awaiting pickup and tons of leaves glued to trees holding on for dear life trying to delay their eventual demise - or in my case, to return to the earth as mulch.

This is my deck, yup I haven't moved the cushions yet (what will the raccoons sit on?)

Oh well, let mother nature do her thing. Fortunately, I did get this done...

Lawn sprinklers winterized - check

Pool closed - check

And because the appliance gremlins won't leave me alone, I had to buy a new dishwasher. So far they've successfully killed my refridge, my dryer and they are working on my stove. I'll fight on, I must, I can't let them win!

On the knitting front, I've been having fun. I started that Elann Pinwhell sweater coat.

After about 10 tries to do a circle using size 10 doublepoints, I remembered that I had these cute little ones I bought at Rhinebeck last year.

I'm stumped now at the sleeves. I'll have to get some advice from my LYS.

Finished the back to a sweater

and made these lovely neck warmers called Cherry Garcia.

STAY WARM or send me some of your heat!

Wow, the snow is gorgeous. We had a little snow but it melted by the next day. I'm ready for winter and a little cold weather, but not snow really. Hmm, not so much.

What is that on your needles, a sweater or two? What's going on? Or is it for someone else? :-)

Sounds like you've been busy. I didn't have snow where I live. But I work not too far from where you live, so I did get to appreciate it up close and in person

You have been very busy. Sweaters and neck warmers and everything. They all look great. Can't wait to see the pinwheel sweater when it's finished. What yarn are you using? As for the snow; I can wait for that.

ohhh that looks cold. It's been weirdly warm here, but I think this week we'll get the frigid air arrival. Up to the mountains, I say.. leave us in the plains alone - I'm enjoying the warmth!

PS, I loved your mom's reaction to her mitts

OMG! You SO live in Jersey! Haha!
That is one thing I don't miss about Wisconsin!

AND all your appliances are dying! My word! Thank goodness you got all the winter things done (pool/sprinklers)

There is a knitter here that has knitted TONS of those pinwheel sweaters! If you want her blog/e-mail I will send it to you! :o)

Cute Cherry Garcia! What sweater are you working on??

Yes, you must look out for the raccoons because we all know how much the animals LOVE your place, LOL!

Woo, look at the snow. Wow. You've been busy knitting, so I'm sure you'll be nice & warm this winter.

I have appliance gremlins too: so far it has been my computer, my TV, and now the dishwasher is making strange noises. Hmm...

Knitting is a great way to escape! Your project look great.
