Mom: "Ok, so what did you make?"
Me: "Mom, you know how you always say you are chilly indoors."
Mom: "Not anymore, because they (my sister and her family) keep the heat up now."
Mom opens the package and looking quite skeptical, slides her hands into the
Mom: "Where are the fingers? You didn't have time to do fingers?"
I give up...

Haha, sometimes you can never please them no matter how hard you try.
ROTFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :oD
Gotta love her!! HAHA!!
And if you are not your mother's daughter I don't know whose you are!!! ;o)
Knitting for our Mom's is never easy.
I know from experience of knitting things for her and then having to reknit them!
LOL. You didn't tell Mom that's the new style? You look so much like her!
it IS a good question! i bet all her friends will want a pair in a few days. they're lovely!
My dad is the same way.Even if it is the exact thing he asked for-there is ALWAYS something wrong with it!Parents-ya gotta love em!
Heh. Fingers not included.
Seriously, Happy Birthday to you mom!
ROTFLMBO!!!! Oh I KNEW it wasn't going to be good when the opening comments were "So what did you make?"
I think those should be the last of the knitted gifts and go with gift cards from now on. Of course you'll hear how impersonal it is to give a gift card, but hey, at least its faster!!!
Oy vey. They are lovely, and a happy birthday to mom. I've learned not to knit for dad, he doesn't quite appreciate it.
Once she tries them out she'll love them. Don't feel badly now...I made dish/washcloths for Dad last year and I found them not too long ago still in the box. It's really hard to come up with gifts. They're either afraid to use them or there is something wrong with them...guess that's why I usually buy him p.j's.
happy knitting :)
Too funny! Gotta love her! And, you gotta laugh or you'd probably cry! It's why I hesitate to do much gift knitting.... what if it's not appreciated???? Gasp!
They are lovely (even without the fingers) ^.^
Happy birthday to your mom.
Hehehe, sounds like that around here sometimes, too. Hope your Mom had a great B-Day! :)
The glovelettes look great.
Are you sure we're not sisters? Because our mothers sound a lot alike.
Your mom's word sound like something that would come from my mom.... lol
OH! That is funny. Of course, I shouldn't laugh..I don't even know HOW to make fingers.
Thanks for the giggle! Made my day, especially after talking to my mother...lol....
T
LOL! I would have been speechless!
OMG!! I think we all have the same mom. I don't make mine anything anymore. I just take her out to breakfast or lunch and let her talk about quilting. lol
uhhhhmmm, I am telling you now that we have the same mother!!! Mine raised 7 children too, but alone. No financial assistance from an Ex or anyone. She also prefers her boys to her 3 girls (one of the girls passed away). I don't get it. She now shows her grandchildren that she prefers her grandsons to her granddaughters....not in a mean or unkind way, but they know it.
uhhhhmmmm.
She built a wonderful house years ago and each child (except me)has a bedroom whether they lived there or not. My room is missing. When I asked about my room she told me she built her house for her sons.
I am done!
