Our national nightmare is finally over...

This is the first inaugeration I've ever watched. In 2000, after Gore conceeded, I curled up in a ball and mourned for 6 days because I felt bad times for our country were coming. Things turned out so much worse than I ever imagined. There's such a mess to clean up now, but I welcome back some basic decencies I had taken for granted before 2000----like the Geneva Conventions.

How true. There is such a different feeling and vibe. At work for the first time since President Obama began his journey we were able to talk about it in a mixed group. There had been a lot of tension, but when I got to work today there was a difference.

I hope and pray that it continues.

To quote Joseph Lowery's excellent benediction, Amen, amen, amen!
